SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The debate over a Sandusky County teen's death continues. On Thursday, family and friends of 19-year-old Jacob Limberios filled a courtroom to contest a court order to have his body exhumed for an autopsy, after paying to have his body exhumed and an independent autopsy performed in December.

Limberios' death in a home near Clyde last year was ruled a suicide by accident within two hours.

"They ruled it a suicide without any - literally any - investigation," said Dan McGookey, Limberios' family attorney.

According to McGookey, the county coroner never even arrived at the scene and no autopsy was performed.

"Nothing was done, literally nothing. The bullet was never retrieved from the home until after we filed this lawsuit," said McGookey.

Jake's father, Mike, says it has been a struggle to get things done and find answers. To get those answers, the family paid to have Jake's body exhumed and an autopsy performed.

The pathologist in charge says the results show that no gun powder burns on the entry wound on Jake's skull is proof that he could not have shot himself.

The family gave a tissue sample to the Sandusky County Coroner's Office to study themselves, hoping to open a new investigation into the death. However, the coroner has not studied the tissue.

"So the tissue sample that they've had for over two months that we gave them, they haven't even had their forensic pathologist look at it," said McGookey.

Now the coroner wants to perform his own autopsy, ordering a second exhumation, but the family feels that is unnecessary.

"It's been too long already," said Limberios.

A judge ordered a restraining order on the planned exhumation until the two parties can determine how to move forward.
