MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department has identified the body recovered from the Ohio River near Owens Island.

They say the person recovered is 55-year-old Sandra Farris from Cairo, Ill. She was reported missing to the Cairo Police Department by family members on March 28 after she didn't return home from an afternoon walk.

According to the sheriff's department, the identification of Farris was done through the assistance of the McCracken County Coroner's Office, the Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville, Ky. , the Cairo Police Department and the family of Farris.

The body was found by Ingram Barge employees around 2 a.m.

The body was taken to the morgue at Lourdes Hospital and later taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office at Madisonville for an autopsy.

Detective Tim Reed with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department says and autopsy has been completed and no foul play is suspected.

According to Turnbow, it appears the body has been in the water from two to four weeks.
