LYON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Kentucky State Police have made a drug bust in Lyon County where marijuana was confiscated.

Police say Clifford A. James, 30 of Custer, Washington, was stopped for careless driving.  

Police say during the traffic stop a K9 alerted on the vehicle and found around two pounds of high grade marijuana inside the vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia. 

James was charged with trafficking in marijuana more than 8 ounces but less than 5 pounds (class D felony), possession of drug paraphernalia (class A misdemeanor) and careless driving.

James was taken to the Caldwell County Jail.  

The investigation continues by KSP.
