MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

A police chase ends with a crash into a squad car.

It happened Friday night just before midnight in Murphysboro. Police say someone called in to report a possible drunk driver on Route 13.

When patrol cars tried to pull the car over the driver allegedly did not stop, but instead ran and red light and continued to drive through a construction zone.

Officers tried to guide the driver to the side of the road so he wouldn't hit any other cars. Officers say the driver, Eric Brown, 29, slammed into a marked police car.

Brown is now behind bars in the Jackson County Jail for driving under the influence, running from police, driving on a revoked license and other charges.
