Early morning blaze scorches downtown Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) -

Numerous crews battled a large fire in downtown Jacksonville in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Jacksonville Fire-Rescue Dispatch said the fire was reported on Main Street in the downtown area. The first reports of the fire came in around 1a.m. Sunday and dispatchers said the locations were active businesses.

Witnesses have said more than one unit in the downtown building was affected in the overnight blaze.

Numerous fire units were dispatched to the fire and three hours after the blaze was reported, the fire was still described as 'active' according to dispatchers.

It is unknown if anyone was in the buildings at the time of the fire and it is unknown if there were any injuries.
