POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

Poplar Bluff Police have arrested two people in connection with a shooting late Sunday afternoon.

James A. Dorris, 37, from Lugoff, S.C., was charged with first degree assault (3 counts), armed criminal action and endangering the welfare of a child.

Heather Dorris, 36, also from Lugoff, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Poplar Bluff police, the two traveled through Poplar Bluff from South Carolina on their way to Bunker, Mo. They were found and arrested in Bunker, Mo.

Police say after the broadcast of surveillance images of the suspect, they received several calls with information which helped identify the people traveling with the suspect and eventually the suspect himself.

The Poplar Bluff Police Department responded to the area of Business Highway 60 and Business Highway 67 in reference to shots fired at a vehicle late Sunday afternoon.

The victim told officers that a white male driving a Black over Red Chevrolet S-10 truck fired two shots at his vehicle while traveling north on Business Highway 67.

The shooting suspect reportedly fired two shots striking the victim's vehicle without injuring anyone inside the vehicle.
