PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A McCracken County woman was arrested Tuesday morning after her pickup truck crashed into the building that houses Jones Glass in downtown Paducah.

Sonya M. Chastain, 43, of Paducah was driving east on Kentucky Avenue when her vehicle crossed the on-coming lanes, ran off the road and hit the glass business at 1211 Kentucky Avenue, according to the Paducah Police Department.

Chastain told officers she did not know what had happened, but when officers searched her truck, they found two cans of compressed air – one of them cold to the touch from recent use.

Chastain told officers she had been "huffing" the compressed air while driving. Officers believe she passed out and her vehicle ran off the road and hit the building.

Chastain was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.

The building sustained apparent minor damage, the city's building inspector was called to the scene.
