Grand jury says man acted in self defense, murder charges dropped

Posted: Updated:

An Elmore County grand jury's 'no bill' vote means Michael Foster is no longer a murder suspect.

Foster had been accused of murdering his own son-in-law, 21-year-old Christian Adkins, late last year.

An Elmore County grand jury chose not to indict Foster believing the evidence showed he acted in self defense.

Tallassee Police say the case is now closed, although investigators can still re-open the case should additional evidence surface.

Foster was released from jail last Friday.
