PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says a Paducah woman is accused of stealing more than $5,000 from her 85-year-old grandmother.

Kelly Christian, 33, of Paducah, was charged Wednesday with 60 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. She was booked and taken to the McCracken County Jail.

The 85-year-old victim, from McCracken County, told police she received her Edward Jones statement and discovered that over $5,000 dollars was missing from her account. Through an investigation, detectives say her granddaughter, Kelly Christian,  forged over 60 checks.

The victim told officers she did not give Kelly permission to have written any of these checks from her Edward Jones account.

Detectives say Christian has been living with the victim for three years.

Christian allegedly gained access to the victim's account by stealing a checkbook from her personal belongings, according to investigators.
