CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

It wasn't your typical baseball tournament, they were playing for more than a "W."

"This had nothing to with winning," Jennifer Icaza-Gast, an organizer of the 1st Annual Parker King Memorial Baseball Tournament, said.

It had everything to do with remember 10-year-old parker king.

"It was awesome," Robin King, Parker's mother said. "It was an honor to come out here and see all the people supporting our son."

Parker died back in December after an ATV accident. Organizers wanted to keep his name alive and thought the best way to honor him would be hosting a tournament for the game he loved.

"He was a true athlete," Robin King said. "He loved the outdoors. He loved baseball, football, and wrestling. He was a country boy at heart."

Organizers say they were over-whelmed by the outpouring of support for the tournament. They had 20 teams from all over the area and raised $15,000 in honor of Parker.

"All of the money raised here today will go back to community," Jennifer Icaza-Gast said. "That is the wish of the King family and that's what Parker would have wanted."

Parker meant a lot to many. He was especially popular with his teammates and friends.
