1 dead after crash on LaSalle St. in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton said one person died after a crash on LaSalle Street on Tuesday.

According to Clifton, 20-year-old Alex Hodges was taken from the scene to a hospital where he later died.

Clifton said another vehicle was involved in the crash, but there is currently no word on any other possible injuries.

According to Cape Girardeau Police, a Ford F-150 driven by Megan N. Caldwell crashed with the Volkswagen Jetta Hodges was driving.

Caldwell, 18, of Cape Girardeau was cited with speeding, careless, and imprudent driving, and failure to maintain in single lane.

Three other people were injured. No word on the extent of their injuries.
