CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Fourth of July fireworks will light up the sky once again in Cape Girardeau.

The City Parks and Recreation Foundation got $12,000 in donations needed for this summer's Independence Day fireworks.

The initial anonymous donor gave $6,000 and the Isle of Capri Casino matched that with another $6,000.

The Parks and Recreation Department will work with the USA Veterans' Organization to finalize details of the show in the coming weeks.

The fireworks are set to go off around dusk on July 4th, at around 9:15 p.m. at Arena Park.

"We heard about the on-going efforts by the veterans’ organization to raise funds for the fireworks and decided to do what we could to help bring fireworks to Cape Girardeau this year,” said Isle Casino Interim Manager Barron Fuller. “We salute all veterans who put their lives on the line for our nation and hope that everyone enjoys the celebration in Cape this year.”

The fireworks company is AM Pyrotechnics out of Buffalo, Missouri, who has provided the show for the last four years, according to the city.
