MARION, IL (KFVS) -

More jobs are making their way into Williamson County.

Leaders at Aisin Electronics held a groundbreaking for an expansion on Thursday.

During the ceremony, a company spokesperson promised 80 high-technology jobs and millions of dollars in productivity.

Eighteen of these plants exist in North America- four of which are in Marion. The site selection process took three years for leaders to choose Marion.

California and Kentucky were also considered.

"It is a terrific day for Williamson County, and a terrific day for high technology jobs, which Aisin manufacturing is going to be creating here at this new plant," said Dutch Doelitzch with REDCO.

Five area schools were also given $2,000 checks through the Williamson County-Japanese friendship program at today's ceremony.
