2 thrown from motorcycle west of Hornersville, Mo.

HORNERSVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

Two people were injured after being thrown from the motorcycle they were riding Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 12:15 p.m. on Route 164, two and a half miles west of Hornersville.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol, James E. Bennett, 49, of Arbyrd, Mo., was driving the motorcycle and was avoiding a slowing vehicle and lost control. The bike overturned throwing Bennett and a passenger, Ann C. Cook, 69, of Senath.

Bennett was taken by EMS to a Kennett hospital with moderate injuries. Cook was taken via helicopter to a Jonesboro, Ark. hospital with moderate injuries. 

Troopers say Bennett and Cook were not wearing helmets.

    According to Poplar Bluff police, the one-way portions of Main Street and Broadway downtown will become two-way streets.
