About half of the states have made the decision to expand Medicaid. Missouri lawmakers are currently debating the matter in Jefferson City. How will what legislators decide impact the state, and those currently living without health insurance?

GENESEE COUNTY, MI (AP) -

The National Weather Service reports several funnel cloud sightings, including a tornado that may have landed near Goodrich High School southeast of Flint.

No injuries were immediately reported.

The weather service didn't directly link damage to Tuesday night's tornado sightings in Genesee County but says high winds in the same severe thunderstorm system heavily damaged several homes.

It says winds toppled numerous trees and power lines.

The weather service says a funnel cloud was sighted about 10 p.m. near Goodrich, touching down near the high school.

Schools in the Goodrich area are closed after severe storms that pushed across Michigan's Lower Peninsula knocked out power to district buildings.

A half hour earlier, it says winds knocked down a home about 5 miles south of Swartz Creek, roughly 15 miles west of Goodrich.

Genesee County's emergency center referred a request for information to Sheriff Robert Pickell, who was out surveying damage Tuesday night.

Tree branches blocked a roadway in Genesee County's Genesee Township, where several homes were severely damaged Tuesday night.

Township police Chief John Mullaly tells the Associated Press that he saw several houses so severely damaged that "they will probably have to be destroyed."

Atlas Township Supervisor Shirley Kautman-Jones says a home near the township hall was demolished by the storms. She says a woman and two children were in the basement of the home at the time storms moved through and they weren't injured.
