Man cited to court, hospitalized after crash

A Paducah, Kentucky man was cited to court and hospitalized after a crash on Saturday.

John Stringer, 42, of Paducah was charged operating a motor vehicle Under the influence of drugs/ alcohol first offense and also possession of marijuana.

McCracken County deputies responded to the 1200 block of Yarbro Lane for injury crash around 3:30 p.m.

According to crash investigators, Stringer was driving his Chevrolet SUV South bound on Yarbro Lane. Deputies say Stringer’s vehicle left the road and hit a tree. Stringer’s SUV then glanced off of a large tree, crossed the road and ended up in a grassy area.

Deputies say Stringer was under the influence of prescription medication at the time of the collision and this was the main cause of the wreck. Stringer was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Stringer was taken to an area hospital for reported non-life threatening injuries.

He was cited to court due to being treated.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Medical Ambulance Service.
