Lowndes County man killed in overnight accident

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A two-vehicle accident claimed the life of a Lowndes County man last night.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Woodcrest Drive and Selma Highway in Montgomery at around 9 p.m.

The collision involved a Chevrolet Monte Carlo and a semi-truck. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.

The Monte Carlo's driver was injured in the accident and was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. The passenger was pronounced deceased on the scene

The victim's name has not been released pending notification of his family.

The investigation into this accident is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.

This is Montgomery's 9th traffic fatality of the year.
