SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Three suspects are facing charges in connection to an early Monday morning shooting of a Sikeston man.

Devante "Tae" McClinton was charged with burglary first degree, assault first degree and armed criminal action. This is in addition to charges filed in April, consisting of robbery and burglary second degree. McClinton remains in custody with a total of $153,000 cash only bond for all the charges.

On June 10 around 1:15 a.m., Sikeston DPS received a call of subject shot at 810 Mary Street.

The victim was a 35-year-old Sikeston man who had a gunshot wound in his back. After police arrived on the scene, they found victim lying near the back door of his home. The victim was able to tell officers that the suspects kicked in his back door and shot him while he was standing near the door.

The bullet allegedly hit the victim's spine and he is believed to be paralyzed. Because of the severity of the injury, police were not able to speak with the victim in detail until two days later.

The 35-year-old victim said he got up to investigate a noise around 1:15 a.m. on Monday.

When he reached the area near the back door, he told police he saw Devante McClinton 19, of Sikeston standing in his kitchen. The victim said after a struggle, he began fighting back with McClinton.

He told police that he was shot in the back as he was fighting with McClinton and then fell to the floor, indicating another suspect or suspects were in the home.

Officers say they found McClinton in the area of Vaughn Street on Wednesday.

Police say McClinton immediately ran when police turned toward his direction. A short foot pursuit followed and two subjects were located hiding in a nearby home. McClinton and the other person were taken into custody. McClinton already had two felony Scott County warrants out for his arrest that were issued in April.

Investigators were able to stop another suspect, 17-year-old Maurice Hunt, in a car near Wakefield and Davis on Thursday. A search of the car turned up a hidden gun. He was taken into custody.

Police then went to the home of the third shooting suspect. Shaquille "Kilo" Sherrod, 19, of Sikeston, was taken into custody without incident in front of his home.

Maurice "Lil Nolan" Hunt and Shaquille "Kilo" Sherrod were both charged with assault 1st degree, burglary 1st degree and armed criminal action.

Hunt and Sherrod were taken into custody with a $100,000 cash only bond, awaiting their arraignment.
