Salvation Army majors leaving Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Two fixtures in Cape Girardeau's charitable community are moving on.

Majors Ben and Beth Stillwell with the Salvation Army have been transferred to Iowa.

It's a decision made by the Salvation Army, and the Stillwell's say they grew fond of Cape Girardeau in their time working here.

"Thank you for being a servant, thank you for loving us and that we wish you Jesus," said Maj. Beth Stillwell. "This is tough."

A new leader for Cape Girardeau's Salvation Army will arrive by July.

The Stillwell's will report to Iowa by June 23.
