A semi truck got stuck in a sinkhole in a parking lot in Mission, KS, Saturday evening.

It happened in the area of Martway Street and Lamar Avenue near the Italian Delight and Hy-Vee grocery store. This happened after torrential rains had pushed through the area.

People who drove by said they saw that the front part of the semi had fallen into the sinkhole and the truck was unable to get out.

Crews spent hours trying to get it out and finally got the semi removed about 7 p.m.

Since that area of the parking lot is used for the motorcycle course at the Kansas Division of Vehicles' Mission driver licensing office, motorcycle skills tests will not be available for two to three weeks.

The Kansas Department of Revenue said the DMV office will remain open, but the skills tests will resume after a new course is sectioned off and painted.

Motorcycle skills tests will still be available at the state's Leavenworth, Lawrence, Topeka, Olathe and Ottawa driver licensing offices.
