LAVERGNE, TN (WSMV) -

La Vergne police arrested a man suspected of holding his former girlfriend against her will at gunpoint late Sunday night.

Philip Mankin Jr., 49, is accused of showing up at the woman's home about 10 p.m. Sunday and refusing to leave. Police said he pulled out a handgun and held her against her will.

After Mankin left the home Monday morning, the woman called police. Officers with the SWAT team then arrested the man at his home in the 100 block of Greenfield Drive, where they also allegedly found several weapons.

Mankin is charged with aggravated domestic assault, aggravated kidnapping, felony vandalism and possession of a weapon in commission of a felony.

Due to the nature of the crime, police are not releasing the identity of the victim.
