PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

The Paducah Police Department is warning citizens of some suspicious phone calls.

Several elderly residents have informed the police department that they have received calls from a toll free number with the caller claiming to represent the Federal Reserve.

The caller has the resident’s name and phone number and even has called one unlisted number. The caller says that the Federal Reserve is holding a check in the citizen’s name for $950,000.

Residents are reminded to be careful when dealing with call like this and to provide no personal information or money up front.
