2 dead after car crashed into two parked cars on Hwy. U

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Two people died after a car crashed into two parked cars on Highway U, less than a mile south of John Emiling Road, around midnight Saturday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1991 GMC Sierra was stopped unoccupied in the southbound lane of Highway U. They say a 1995 Chevy 2500 was stopped unoccupied in the northbound lane of Highway U, both due to debris in the road. Officers say a 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette was driving northbound on Highway U and hit the rear of the Chevy 2500 and the front of the GMC Sierra.

The driver of the Silhouette, Ronald L. French, 32 from Irondale received serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. One passenger, Tina M. Lindsey, 34, from Desloge was flown to a St. Louis hospital with serious injuries. Two other passengers, 16-year-old Brandon L. Stark and 40-year-old Steve L. Stark, both from Irondale, were pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Steve Hatfield.

Police say only the 16-year-old was wearing a seatbelt.
