CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Two cars are called a complete loss after a fire on Graphite Lane in Cape Girardeau County Sunday afternoon.

According to the home owner, Jane Perry, she was trying to jump start the van, went inside the home and when she came outside, the vehicles were on fire. She sells handbags and said there was over $1,000 worth of purses in the trunk of the car that are gone due to the fire.

Perry said the car had a full tank of gas, which leaked onto the ground.

One side of the house is burned. According to the Gordonville assistant fire chief, a window and some of the inside of the house was damaged from the fire.
