MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A man suspected of robbing a taxi cab driver at gunpoint Monday on Twin Oaks Drive near Murfreesboro has been arrested.

Darryl Buchanan, 26, is accused of placing a handgun against the driver's ribs and taking his cell phone, stun gun and cash during the robbery about 3:30 a.m.

Buchanan took the keys to his vehicle and ordered the driver to walk around a vacant home while he fled.

"Cab drivers typically all have cash on them, which is an easy target to take from," said Detective Steve Brown with the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office.

The City Cab driver picked up the suspect at Mapco Express on Almaville Road in Smyrna and drove him to Tremont apartments on Tremont Drive in Murfreesboro. They drove to Twin Oak Drive off East Main Street where the suspect directed the driver to pull into the driveway of a vacant house.

Buchanan is charged with aggravated robbery and is jailed on $10,000 bond.

A hearing is set July 8 in General Sessions Court.

New federal regulations have changed what many kids who attend public schools eat for lunch at school. However, some area private schools don't have to follow those rules and have come up with their own new school lunch program.
