SESSER, IL (KFVS) -

Two people died after a crash on IL Route 154 and Gun Creek Trail near Sesser.

A passenger van was turning onto Illinois Route 154 from Golf Course Road when it pulled into the path of a semi-truck tractor with trailer that was eastbound on Route 154, according to Illinois State Police.

The semi hit the van in the driver's side.

David B. Couture, 23, of West Frankfort, Illinois was driving the van. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Christina M. Bradley, 19, of Benton, Illinois was a passenger. She was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Funeral arrangements for Bradley will be held at noon on Friday, June 28 at the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton, with Pastor Alan Kornacki officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home, 401 East Main Street, Benton, IL 62812, to help the family with the funeral expenses.

Couture and Bradley had recently moved in together at a home in Valier, according to Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler.

Kevin G. Simpson, 38, of West Frankfort, Illinois was driving the semi. He was taken to the Herrin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
