MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

Murfreesboro police arrested the man accused of robbing the downtown Bank of America on Thursday.

According to a news release, police arrested James Bell, 39, today at The Journey House on West Castle Street.

Police said they received several tips after local media ran the picture of the suspect.

He was arrested without incident.

On Thursday, police said a man entered the Bank of America at 120 E. Main St. about 1:45 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.

The man then fled the bank in a white minivan with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators describe the suspect as a black male, approximately 6'3" and 220 pounds, with a low-cut beard and glasses, wearing a black hat with writing on it, red polo-style short, white undershirt and jeans.

The suspect did not show a weapon during the robbery, but police said he should still be considered armed and dangerous.
