Panthers look to upset top seeded Hammers

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Panthers' road to a third straight league title begins Monday.

If the Panthers want to raise that third banner, they'll have to pull off some upsets.

Albany is the league's fourth seed and travels to Huntsville, Alabama to take on the top-seeded Hammers Monday night

But don't tell the Panthers they're underdogs.

They say everyone's 0-0 at this point and they're confident in their ability.

Head coach Lucious Davis says his team's intensity level has ratcheted up this week at practice- all because of one word.

"Just the word playoffs, your whole mentality should change," says Davis. "I feel real confident about our team right now and going into this game. If we execute and do the things we're supposed to do, I think gameplan wise we'll be great."

The Panthers kick off against the Hammers at 8:00 Monday night. It's the first ever Monday night game in Panthers history.
