Two people were injured in a crash Sunday morning after the driver of a car tried to miss deer in the road in Hamilton County.

It happened around 7:45 a.m. on County Road 2200 north, east of County Road 200 east.

According to Illinois State Police, Jamie Lynn Hogan, 33, of Hardy, Arkansas, was driving eastbound on CR 2200 north when two deer ran out into the road in front of her car.

Police say Hogan tried to avoid hitting the deer and lost control of the car.  The car struck an embankment and overturned.

Logan and a 12-year-old passenger in the car were taken by Wayne City Ambulance to a Mt. Vernon hospital for treatment.

Logan was cited for driving with a suspended/revoked driver's license.
