FREDERICKTOWN, MO (KFVS) -

This Fredericktown family says they live outdoors. Swimming, building teepees, you'll find them doing just about anything. Older sister Chelcy Hobaugh says in the summer heat they like their cool treats.

“The kids went nuts, so we said we'd try it out,” said Chelcy.

According to the directions, it’s just three easy steps away from a nice, cold slushy. First, you need to freeze the cup for at least three hours. Step two, take any cold beverage and pour it in, the colder the better. Next, let it sit for at least a minute and judging by the look on Jack's face, it's a long minute for this 6 year old. Last step, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze.

“It's not doing nothing,” said Chelcy.

Beware, it may claim it's mess free, but clearly that's not the case. Ten-year-old Lexis hopes to have the magic touch and gives it some squeezes too.

“It's not got ice or anything in it, its just not a slushie,” said Chelcy. “A mess on the counter, it was coming out the top it was horrible.”

Before we completely throw this product down the drain, the family agrees to give it one more shot. For full disclosure, I did freeze the cup in Cape, packed it in ice, and then drove to Fredericktown, so the cup may not have been as cold as in needed to be. So, they decided to freeze it and try it again. This time, the results are much better.

“Even with the mess, I'd say a B,” said Chelcy.
