AGAWAM, MA (WSHM) -

Powerful storms rocked Western Mass Monday afternoon, taking down limbs, trees and power lines in several communities.

A micro burst in Agawam toppled several large trees at the end of Hunt Street taking out more than two dozen cars in the process. By Tuesday evening all but one of those vehicles had been removed.

A woman from Agawam said she was still waiting for her insurance company to do something with her crushed pickup truck at the Agawam Corporate Center. She said she has not been contacted by an adjuster and her insurance company wouldn't allow another towing company to move the vehicle. CBS 3 contacted her insurance company and was told they were working as fast as they could to resolve her claim.

Independent insurance agent and President of Leahy & Brown Insurance and Realty Joseph Leahy had some advice for people who had their home or vehicle damaged.

Leahy recommended contacting the insurance agent immediately. If the agent was not able to help out in a timely manner, he suggested asking for a supervisor to expedite the process. For claims taking excessive time, or if there was a dispute about the amount of the claim, Leahy said customers should contact the Massachusetts Division of Insurance.

Several massive trees remained on the ground, and tree crews said they are worried about the broken branches still hanging up in the trees. Crews estimated a week to clean up all of the trees and debris.
