WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the death of a 22-year-old man.

According to the sheriff's office, Trevor Martin died as a result of an incident on Jefferson Street in Creal Springs on Friday, June 28 around midnight.

Martin was pronounced dead on Wednesday morning, July 2 at a St. Louis-area hospital.

An autopsy has been scheduled by the St. Louis Medical Examiner's Office for Saturday morning.

The Williamson County State's Attorney's Office has been advised of the incident and the on-going investigation being conducted by the Sheriff's Office. The State's Attorney's Office will review the case upon completion of the investigation and, if warranted, decide what charges are appropriate.

The sheriff's office said the incident involved no weapons or other instruments.

According to the sheriff's office, no other information can be released at this time due to the on-going investigation into the incident.
