JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

A Cape Girardeau County jury has found a man guilty of child molestation charges.

Sean Williams, 33, was found guilty of child molestation in the first degree involving a teenage victim, according to Cape Girardeau Prosecuting Attorney Chris Limbaugh.

The teenage victim told police the abuse happened several times over the past several years.

Limbaugh says Williams took the stand on his own behalf and denied abusing the victim and ever being alone with her.

The jury of eight women and four men found Williams guilty after deliberating for just under two hours, according to prosecutors.

He faces up to 15 years in prison. He is set to be sentenced on August 12, 2013.

The case was tried at the Jackson Courthouse in Cape Girardeau County. It was investigated by the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
