The 5th annual Mean Machine Dream Team Youth Football Camp opens next week at Cape Central Junior High School. The camp runs form July 15-20, going from 6-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
The camp teaches football skills and conditioning, as well as life skills.
"It's about sports, but it's about us as a community, getting back to what's right and it's got to start somewhere, and it's got to start with our youth," said Mean Machine coach George Foster. "So I stay with the younger guys and one of the reasons, the main reason I do this, is for our kids and our community."
The camp is free to attend and open to boys and girls grades 3rd through 6th. Foster says the camp is always looking for donations to help with cost.
Several Southeast Missouri State football players will also be on hand to help coach the camp, including Lennies McFerren, Ron Coleman and Kyle Snyder.
For more information on how to register for the camp, Foster can be contacted at 573-275-1332.
