3 face drug charges after pursuit

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) -

Three people are facing drug charges after a speedy pursuit in Calloway County, Kentucky on Friday afternoon.

Authorities say Tim Smith, 30, of Murray was charged with speeding 30 mph over the limit, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license, fleeing and evading police in a motor vehicle, fleeing and evading on foot, manufacturing meth, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Evan Pittman, 31, of Mayfield was charged with manufacturing meth and fleeing and evading police on foot.

Holly Cherry, 42, of Murray was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree.

Deputies say after a pursuit of a car going 80-90 mph on East KY 94, two people fled into a home near Murray. Smith had a warrant for his arrest. After searching the home, officers say they found a backpack with items used to make meth.

After an investigation and home search by officers and K9, drugs and paraphernalia were found, according to police.

Calloway County Sheriff's Office and KSP investigated the incident.
