PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah man is facing various charges after being accused of breaking in to a home, robbing the homeowner and crashing a car into another home.

Shortly after 3:15 a.m., on Saturday, deputies responded to the area of Woodlawn trailer park on Meacham Lane for a reported robbery that had taken place.

The victim told officers that she had been robbed while she was sleeping in her bedroom. Investigations showed that a man wearing black clothing and a black ski mask had pried open the front door. Once inside, he awoke the victim who went to see what was taking place. As the victim approached, the man reportedly threw her to the floor causing a laceration to her arm. The suspect then allegedly stole a small safe containing money, some prescription medication and jewelry before leaving.

Further investigation into the robbery led deputies to believe that Terry J. Vinson was the suspect.

While searching for Vinson, deputies received a call that a Ford Explorer had collided with a residence in the 800 block of Oaks Road, close to where Vinson had been living.

After getting on the scene of the collision, deputies learned from the homeowners that a white male fitting Vinson’s description had crashed his vehicle into the home. He then left the scene southbound on Oaks Road.

Deputies found Vinson walking just about a block south of the collision. Deputies found the stolen property from the previous in a nearby ditch.

Vinson reportedly did not have permission from the registered owner to use the vehicle that was involved in the collision.
