FOREST ACRES, SC (WIS) -

A former Gamecock favorite was back in South Carolina Saturday.

Former running back Marcus Lattimore was at AC Flora High School helping out at a football camp. He was one of the coaches on the field along with former Clemson quarterback Woody Danztler.

Lattimore said being among his fans and kids who love football is the best part of what he does.

"Just interacting with all the fans and kids is great," he said. "I'm just so blessed to be in this situation and I don't take it lightly. I don't take it for granted."

"And it doesn't go unnoticed what they do - they pack out the stadium, they write me cards, they write me letters. They love their Gamecocks and I love them too."

At the end of the camp the kids were treated to photos and autographs.

Lattimore was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in April.  He said he's had no setbacks since his knee surgery and rehab and he's looking forward to training camp.
