Ky. woman injured after her car crashes into a semi trailer

A Kentucky woman was injured after her car slid under a semi trailer that police say was making an illegal u-turn.

It happened just after 5:45 p.m. Monday on Interstate 69 at 74-mile marker in Lyon County, Ky.

According to Kentucky State Police, a tractor-trailer driven by Melvin Hauschild of Louisville, Kentucky was trying to make a reported illegal u-turn at the 74-mile marker on Interstate 69.

Troopers say Hauschild was traveling in the left lane and swerved over into the right lane to try to make a swift turn through the median.

Courtney Campbell of Louisville was unable to stop her car.

Police say Campbell unable to come to a stop, and her car slid underneath the trailer and became lodged in front of the trailer tires.

Eddyville Fire was able to remove Campbell and she was transported to Lourdes.

Hauschild was not injured, and after the investigation and inspection of the semi, he was cited into court for reckless driving and making an illegal u-turn on a limit access highway.
