CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A House committee will tour Mississippi River ports in southeast Missouri on July 30-31.

State Rep. Paul Wieland says the goal of the tour is to get a better look at how Missouri’s ports play in moving $4.1 billion of cargo each year, and to see how the transportation system port system can better meet the current and future transportation needs of the state.

The trip will include tours of the following ports on July 30:

New Bourbon Port – 2:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Mississippi River Mile 120.5

Ste. Genevieve, MO 63670

SEMO Port - 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.

10 Bill Bess Drive

Scott City, MO 63780

The remaining stops on July 31 include:

Pemiscot County Port - 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.

Caruthersville, MO 63830

New Madrid County Port - 10:45 to 11:45 a.m Marston, MO 63866

Mississippi County Port - 1:45 to 2:30 p.m.
