PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

A 2-year-old girl is dead after she was found Tuesday morning unresponsive in a back yard pool at a home off of South Washington Street.

Prattville police say the 911 call came in at 9:20 a.m. When medics arrived, they found the girl unresponsive and performed CPR before rushing her to Prattville Baptist Hospital.

The 2-year-old was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m.

At this time, the victim's identity cannot be released as police are still notifying next of kin.

Prattville Police Chief Mark Thompson will not rule out charges - he says they're still investigating all angles in this case.

It is unclear how long the child had been in the water before she was found.
