POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

It's been serving as a place of worship in Poplar Bluff for 11 years and now the Emmanuel House of Praise found out they have to move.

"We have a lot of youth," said Pastor Leroy Williams. "They love to come to church because they get a chance to praise God in their own way. They get a chance to sing and they get a chance to dance."

Pastor Leroy Williams said this church has come a long way in its 11 years.

"We have tried to build up the ministry," Williams said. "There are so many great highlights that has happened."

Now, Williams said that is all in jeopardy. They received this notice from the Clark Law Firm telling them their month-to-month lease will not be renewed.

They must remove their belongings and leave the property by September 1.

In the lease, it states the owner may enter the building without notice and renter has permission to call directly for any immediate repair of plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning. That's something Williams said they paid themselves.

"We've replaced the roof, we've worked on our plumbing and wiring here, all the maintenance in this church," Williams said. "We have taken care of for 11 years."

Williams said he can't believe this is happening but wants people to know, he plans on fighting it.

"So we are fighting for the church," Williams said. "We are fighting for God's house."
