FULTON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Kentucky State Police charged a Fulton Co., Ky. man with criminal attempt to commit murder of a police officer.

On Friday July 26, KSP extradited Keith E. Dildine, 56, of Fulton, from Shelby County, Tenn. back to Ky.

Dildine was involved in a shooting incident on July 7 when Fulton PD and South Fulton PD Officers responded to a shots fired complaint at the Royal Ridge Apartments in Fulton.

According to police, the investigation, thus far, revealed that Dildine left his apartment and fired at local law enforcement officers with a handgun before a trooper returned fire, hitting Dildine multiple times.

At the time of the incident Dildine was taken to the hospital in Fulton, and later airlifted to a Memphis hospital. Dildine was released from the hospital last week, and taken into custody by Memphis police, before being turned over to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.

Dildine has been charged by Kentucky State Police with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder of a police officer. He was lodged in the Fulton County Detention Center. No bond information is available at this time.

The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
