    A Kansas City man whose wife was killed when he crashed their car into a sign post has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

MCLEANSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

One person has been hospitalized and another person was placed in police custody after a reported stabbing.

The incident happened in the 400 block of South Jackson Street in McLeansboro, Illinois after a 911 call was placed about 9 p.m. Saturday night.

According to McLeansboro Police Lt. David Filkins, officers found a man was stabbed in the back one time.

The victim, Alex Carr, 22, of McLeansboro, was flown to an Evansville Hospital. He had surgery scheduled for Sunday morning and was listed in critical condition.

A juvenile was taken into custody in connection with the stabbing. He faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery, unlawful use of a weapon and obstruction of justice.

He was being held in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.

The case remains under investigation.
