CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A Cape Girardeau man is traveling across the United States to raise awareness for organ donations. He made a stop on "Molly's Organ Trail" this weekend in Cape Giradeau County.

Corey Eaker lost his wife to a lifelong battle with organ complications.

Doctors told the family the odds were stacked against his wife, but she continued the fight her whole life.

Eaker spoke with folks at the Gordonville Grill on Sunday while spreading Molly's legacy.

She was 24-years-old and had 37 operations with 180 hospitalizations.

However, those that knew her say that she never focused on herself.

Molly always wanted to help others, and now her friends and family are doing just that.

"She stayed at the hospital the whole time because she wasn't able to leave, she was in too much pain," said Corey Eaker. "She was on constant pain medicine and it was rough for her. She was only able to go outside two times in the last 8 months."

Their goal of traveling across the country is for people to consider donating organs in the hopes of saving others like Molly.
