MARION, KY (KFVS) -

A man faces murder and other charges after police say he stabbed his brother to death in Marion, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police responded to a stabbing at 316 West Depot Street in Marion on August 1 near 2 p.m.

According to KSP, Britt Decker, 26, started fighting with his brother, Almonzo Vassuer, 29 inside their home.

Decker is accused of assault Vassuer with more than one knife.

Police say Phyllis Vassuer, 41, tried to stop the assault, but she was assaulted with a knife.

Mr. and Mrs. Vassuer and a 13- year-old girl ran out the back door of the home with Decker chasing. Phyllis Vassuer and the girl escaped to a neighbor's home where they called for help.

The girl was uninjured.

Police say Decker assaulted Vassuer with a knife again while outside. Almonzo Vassuer went across the street to 305 West Depot St, and collapsed on the front porch.

He had multiple stab wounds and was taken to the Crittenden County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Phyllis Vassuer was also taken to the Crittenden County Hospital with injuries to her head, hand, and arms. She was released from the hospital.

Decker was arrested in his front yard without incident and was charged with murder, assault, 1st degree and wanton endangerment, 1st degree. He was taken to the Crittenden County Jail.
