MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A Murfreesboro woman says she was raped after responding to an ad on Craigslist. The woman told police she responded to an ad for a free massage.

She said a man then came to her house at 11 p.m. one night with a massage table.

The woman told police the massage soon turned into a sexual assault, and the man covered her mouth so she could not scream.

"Unfortunately, if it's too good to be true it usually is," said Murfreesboro police spokesman Sgt. Kyle Evans. "There are steps you can take to guarantee your safety. The first would be to check references, check with the Better Business Bureau. Check to make sure they are licensed before you respond to ads. Certainly, never invite someone to your private residence."

Police have not arrested that man yet, but say they are following up on leads.
