Heartland Cooks 8/16 - Jacqulyn's Creamy Apple Salsa Dip

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

This week's Heartland Cooks is from Poplar Bluff.

Jacqulyn Barks says she got creative in the kitchen and came up with her Creamy Apple Salsa Dip.

Her husband loves to spread it on crackers, she prefers a thinner dip version of the same recipe that she uses to add flavor to fresh veggies and fruit.

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons chunky salsa
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 apple (finely diced)

Directions:

Open cream cheese packages and put contents in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave approximately 30 seconds.

Blend softened cream cheese using an electric hand mixer. Add salsa and brown sugar and blend again. Add diced apple and stir with spatula or spoon.

To make thinner consistency, add two additional tablespoons of salsa.

Serve with crackers as a spread, or raw veggies as a dip.

Enjoy!
