Former Monroe standout Lockette cut by 49ers

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (WALB) -

In an effort to improve his game, former Monroe Tornado football star Ricardo Lockette has been rooming and working out with San Francisco 49er teammate, QB Colin Kaepernick.

It appears Lockette will soon be searching for a new living situation.

The 49ers waived Lockette Wednesday, in a move to make space for free agent QB Seneca Wallace.

Lockette was considered a candidate for a breakout season in San Francisco, even earning high praise in March from 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Lockette, who has two career receptions for 10 yards and a touchdown, is now a free agent.
