NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Calls to 911 from Sprint customers' phones did not properly connect to communications centers in several Middle Tennessee communities on Monday night.

As of 2:30 a.m., the Metro Nashville emergency communication center was receiving calls.

Calls to 911 from Sprint customers' phones were not properly connecting to the emergency communication centers in Davidson, Wilson, Cheatham and Sumner counties. It is not known if the system has been restored in the other counties.

Officials say Sprint customers in Nashville should find a different phone or call the non-emergency line at 862-8600.

In Lebanon and Mt. Juliet, Sprint customers should call Wilson County dispatch at 449-7243. Mt. Juliet police are also available at 754-2550.

In Sumner County, Sprint customers should call the county's non-emergency line at 452-2616 or their local police department.

In Cheatham County, Sprint customers should call the county's non-emergency line at 792-2098.

Rutherford County officials said its system was not affected, but dispatchers were put on alert for possible problems.

The cause of the issue is unknown, as is an estimate on when the issue may be resolved.

Customers on other phone carriers are not affected.

Channel 4 News has reached out to Sprint, based in Overland Park, KS, for comment but has not yet heard back.
