Man calls 911 on himself, arrested for false call

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A false 911 call has a Davidson County man in trouble.

The alleged caller, Paul Burton, called police to warn them about himself.

The caller told police he was a convicted felon, that he had an AK-47 in the attic and that if police showed up he would shoot them. So police responded to the emergency call.

Police went to the house and found Burton there.

At first Burton denied every making the call, but later admits to police he did make the call.

Nothing happened at the home. Burton did not have an AK-47.

Police said Burton had made a "drunk dial" and charged him with making a false report and making a non-emergency 911 call.

Making a false report is a Class C felony in Tennessee.
